AJAX Fibra Wired Surveillance System
Fibra is Ajax Systems’ newer, proprietary wired communication technology. It combines the reliability of wired connections with some of the smart features of Ajax’s wireless system.
✔ Wired: Devices connect to the central hub via a physical cable (4-core cable).
✔ Power delivery: Fibra devices are powered directly by the hub through the same cable that transmits data, eliminating the need for batteries in the detectors.
✔ Range: Can support cable lengths of up to 2,000 meters on a single line.
✔ Data reliability: Wired connections generally offer higher data reliability and are immune to wireless interference.
✔ Security: Inherits Ajax’s advanced encryption and anti-sabotage features.
✔ Installation: Requires professional cabling, similar to traditional wired alarm systems. Ajax Fibra’s installation is typically more involved and time-consuming than Jeweller (Ajax wireless protocol).
✔ Cost: While detectors might be slightly cheaper without batteries, the overall installation cost can be higher due to cabling.
✔ Use cases: Designed for larger commercial and industrial facilities, multi-story buildings, and installations where extreme reliability, no battery changes, and long cable runs are paramount. It’s also suitable for new constructions where cabling can be easily planned.
